What Do Ball Bearings Do In A Traxxas Rc Car?

Im just wondering what the ball bearings do in a traxxas, and how much do they increase the performance.

Bearings over bushings are a must. They are located on all four corners of the car in the front and rear carriers. Bearings have small ball inside of a case that make things roll smoother, while bushings are just pretty much smooth hunks of metal that hold the axles.
