What does this skateboard lingo mean in english?
deck: 2.7 x 28″ 9-ply Maple
Trucks: 5″ Poly Propylene
Wheels: 50 x 36 mm PVC
Bearings: 608Z
what does it mean? is it good? is there something that i might want to replace?
1 It doesn’t sound good to me. A 9 Ply deck is gonna be really thick and heavy and probably won’t have much pop to it. Most good skateboards are 7 ply. Ply has to do with how many layers of wood it has. 7 ply has 7 layers. 9 ply has 9 layers.
Trucks. Polypropylene? That would be like a plastic. Plastic trucks are no good. They won’t turn right and they break. Trucks are supposed to be metal. Completely metal.
As for the wheels. PVC would be like plastic pipes. Good skate wheels are made from Urethane.
608Z bearings are cheap.
