front wheel hub is off, bearings shot, smaller spindle still, in place. press off and on or is there another w

late 80s model nissan pick-up . everything is dissassembled except for the spindle that holds the bearings in place

1 If the bearing failed and spun now you cannot remove the wheel studs and hub assembly. That means the bearing welded itself to the spindle. Every thing between the ball joints needs to be replaced “wrecking yard oops” Automotive recycler is the next place to check. ANd In Mexico there are more parts like that down there. The bearings are not pressed they just slide over the spindle then no turn washer and jamb nut and cotter pin. Use new axle seals. Outside races for the tapered roller bearings are pushed into the hub assembly with punch and hammer. Good Luck

2 You could heat the bearing up and it will expand and you can pull it off. You can do the same thing with the new bearing if you are careful. I would suggest a bearing heater, but I know that you don’t have one. Don’t overheat the new bearing or you’ll ruin it. good luck.
